Firooz Sadighi received his Ph.D degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, U.S.A. in 1982. His field of specialization includes Linguistics and L2 Acquisition. His research areas cover syntax, semantics, second language acquisition, psycholinguistics, and reading skills and strategies. He has published several books on Reading comprehension, Vocabulary Building, and Englsih syntax (grammar) used by university students across the country. He has also published several articles in local and international journals. He has supervised several M.A. theses and Ph.D. dissertations. The courses taught at BA, MA, and PhD levels are: reading , study skills, issues in linguistics, syntax, semantics ,phonology, psycho-linguistics, L2 and L1 acquisition, and syntactic argumentation.
